The lineup for this year's Venice Film Festival was recently announced and Sound Dogs Toronto has shown up once again, or rather twice. Darren Aronofsky's "The Fountain" and Brian DePalma's "The Black Dahlia" are two of the five U.S. features selected for competition. Both completed sound post with Sound Dogs Toronto. "The past year has been special for us in that we were provided the opportunity to work with two immensely creative and yet stylistically diverse artists in Brian and Darren" says SDTO President Nelson Ferreira. "The critical buzz surrounding these projects already is understandable".
Every great director is surrounded by great craftspeople and there was no exception in these cases. Sound Dogs Toronto wishes to thank picture editor Jay Rabinowitz, rerecording mixer Domenick Tavella and the team at Sound One New York for their collaborative genius on "The Fountain". Many thanks also go out to Black Dahlia sound designer Paula Fairfield and picture editor Bill Pankow for their continuing support and guidance.
